Acadian's Jodrey School of Computer Science helps you go beyond just being a computer user. You will learn how to design and implement computer systems that solve real-world problems. We offer you a great experience throughout your university career. Our programs are accredited by the Canadian Society of Information Technology Professionals (CIPS). This way you ensure the best possible training. Small class sizes offer you a friendly learning environment. You will work closely with your professors. You can choose from the following programs: The Bachelor of Computer Science is a 4-year program designed to meet and exceed CIPS and Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) standards for undergraduate programs. Our program offers a combination of the following: The degree requires completion of all core courses with a grade of C or better and a PGPA of at least 2.0.

For the Bachelor of Computer Science, we offer defined options of BACS and BSc and also offer opportunities to complete a second major or an interdisciplinary minor. Our program is designed for students with no programming background. If you have programming experience, please let us know. We may be able to fast-track your first-year courses. As you study, you will also develop skills in interpersonal relationships, communication, teamwork, project management and entrepreneurship. Another important and interdisciplinary learning opportunity allows you to connect computer science with other sciences, arts and professional studies at Acadia. Acadia's award-winning co-op program allows you to work at leading software companies during your education, helping you earn money while you study. The co-op program has a high placement rate with companies across Canada.

By choosing Acadia's Informatics graduate program, you will increase the depth and breadth of your knowledge through additional courses and studies, and you will further develop your research skills through the development of complex projects and theses with a supervisor. You will benefit from our small class sizes and collaborative approach to research - you will develop a high level of contact and collaboration with your tutor and gain skills working in groups with other researchers. Many of our research projects are collaborative in nature, where you work and discuss with tutors and groups of students as you pursue your own research project. The Jodrey School of Computing is a strong leader in the Acadia Institute for Data Analytics (AIDA), which offers many opportunities for you to collaborate with local business and industry partners using data to solve problems of interest. AIDA is run by the Acadia Center for Entrepreneurship - its programming helps you connect with local businesses and entrepreneurs.

Acadia produced the world's first Web Census - a comprehensive study of all Web servers on the publicly addressable Internet - and was prolific in researching the results and methods for learning Web structure. Our expertise in artificial intelligence, mobile computing and multi-agent systems is strengthened by collaboration between our researchers and students in the Cooperative Intelligent Distributed Systems Group and the Intelligent Information Technology Research Laboratory.
